Aria Maestosa

Aria Maestosa is a simple application that lets you create all sorts of musical themes in MIDI, a rather old-school format that's nevertheless light and easy to use.

To compose your songs you'll have different instruments, such as a keyboard, guitar, or drums, that you can combine to create more complex themes with a more professional style.

You can save your projects in Aria Maestosa's own format or in MIDI. That said, even if you export it to MIDI you can still keep working with it, as the program gives you the option to import any track to edit as you please.
